Lines in the Desert Visited by Bus

If you ask, the manager/owner of your hostel/guesthouse, he or she will tell you which buses to take to see the lines of Nazca on the cheap. Well, you'll see a few of them, one of them very prominent and well known. You take a bus from the local bus station next to the long-range bus terminal (where you may have arrived), buy a ticket in the office, and when the bus comes, tell the driver you want to go to the tower (torre) in Spanish, if possible. Once you arrive, there are restrooms, some souvenir stands, and the tower. You pay a small access fee. When I got there I was the only tourist there and had the tower to myself for about 15 minutes. Then the tours arrived. Seems that a lot of people either don't want to spend the money to fly, don't trust the local pilots, or simply don't relish flying in an aircraft that is being tossed from one wing-tip to the other, so that both sides can take their pictures. You can be sure that barf-bags are handed out and emphasized for a reason. Anyway, be that as it may, in the end, you will feel glad that you came here and may even decide to save the money for the flight. It's a few dollars (Solars) well spent, IMO.

The maps of the lines will show you some drawings in direction mountains, but they are just too far from the tower to be seen.

This is the direction to see the lines that are in the proximity of the tower, including the 'alien runways', you may have heard about.
And the tree 'growing' from the end of such a set of very long and straight lines. You may notice the branches and roots.

The airplanes will dip low to see this relatively small but very well known figure, los manos, the hands.
